Letter of Recommendation

Hi! I’m confused about the UArts letter of recommendation. I know it only wants one letter from a teacher, but is there a specific form they want filled out by this teacher or a cover sheet? Or do I just send my teacher’s letter alone?

There is no specific form or cover sheet. After you submit your application, you should receive an information packet which, if memory serves me right, includes an identification number. This number can be included on the recommendation letter. Your teacher should send the letter directly. While only one letter is required, additional letters will be accepted. See the admissions webpage or the instructions on the hardcopy application for more details. You can also call the admissions office for more info as well as the School of Theater for program specific application/admissions questions.

From the website:

You are required to submit one teacher recommendation. Please ask your teacher to comment on your demonstrated abilities in the arts, your maturity, ambition, determination and seriousness of purpose. The letter of recommendation should be sent directly to the Admission Committee.

Although not a requirement, you are welcome to submit additional recommendations from other teachers, guidance counselors, or employers.

When my daughter applied, she had both an academic and artistic letter of recommendation.

Thank you so much! :)
