So I have asked my physics teacher for three letters because I’m applying to some science programs. I asked him at the end of January. However, I confused one of the the deadline and told him that it has to be received in mail about 14 days later than what the actual deadline is. So instead of 1 and a half month I originally planned to give him, I can only give him a month. I told him this today and he told me he’ll try but he’s very busy.

I had to repeatedly remind him to give me the first one day and I sent my first app in the mail. His attitude was basically terrible even though he told me he’d gladly write them before.

This is frustrating because I don’t know him well and I am not certain he’ll write me a good letter of rec or even write one on time. This specific one has to be written by a current teacher but the third one doesn’t have to be. Is it ok if I ask another teacher to complete one of the two letters? Do most programs allow a little room for late recs? Or if he doesn’t do it I’m screwed?
