I’m planning to ask my AP Calc teacher and my AP Stat teacher for letters of rec. Do these count as different academic areas of study?

@kedward it would be a better, more well-rounded approach to have one STEM and one humanities for your LoRs. That said, if you feel these two teachers know you the very best and will provide far far far better, more insightful LoRs then I guess you can do this. Are you applying BSE?

Really encourage you to not do STEM LoRs though…

It’s math and math.

I would choose someone who can speak to some of the other aspects of the way you think.

No you aren’t. Princeton doesn’t admit by major. I agree with @psywar and @bjkmom that more diverse recommendations will make you look more well rounded, and would also note that a humanities teacher would typically be a better writer than a math teacher,
