letters of reccomendation for Holy Cross

I was wondering if anyone knew how many letters of recommendation would be appropriate when applying to Holy Cross? Should all the letters be from teachers and counselors?

Please help!!! I will be applying in the fall!

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out. Holy Cross does not expect the applicants to submit standardized test scores, so letters of rec. are SUPER important!

Thanks…

College websites are an excellent source of information for this type of question:

[First-Year Applicants | Admissions | College of the Holy Cross](http://admissions.holycross.edu/applying/first-year-applicants)

Holy Cross does not expect the applicants to submit standardized test scores

Its not that HC “does not expect applicants to submit test scores” as you stated…HC is SAT optional…the majority of the applicants DO send test scores.

thanks for your input. I don’t want to go ‘letter of recommendation crazy’. However I want them to reallyknow what I have to offer to their school. The website may say two letters, but is it limited to that, or is that the minimum. I am a cancer survivor, so I do have people who are writing the letter who greatly respect my situation. More letters could definitely be a plus for me, I think?

That is the RECOMMENDED number.

Think about ad coms and how many applications, essays, LORs, etc. they read each year. There’s a saying, the thicker the file, the thicker the applicant. The general recommendation is at most 1 supplemental LOR, and ONLY if it is extremely strong AND discusses aspects of you that are not covered in the other LORs.

KAS- Sounds as if you have something you need to say, a story you need to tell—SET UP AN INTERVIEW…luckily HC offers them…you’d be surprised how many kids don’t bother to interview—it could really help you…why rely on letters of rec when you can WOW HC in person!
