Letters of Recommendation, how important are they?

I currently have a 3.4 GPA with my sites set on going to UCSC which I believe for transfer students has a min requirement of a 2.8 GPA. I am going to be transferring from my CC as a Computer Science Major with all my prerequisite math,physics, etc… all completed. How crucial would a letter of recommendation be from one of my teachers? Would it hurt me much if I don’t have one?

Are you transferring Fall 2015 or Fall 2016? I’m assuming Fall 2016? You won’t need letters of recommendation for your application. They won’t review them.

That’s correct. None of CA’s public universities accept letters of recommendation.

I thought we aren’t allowed to submit letters of recommendation?

Make sure your personal statement is solid. Can’t you TAG to UCSC in CS?
