My child just received a large honor that only one person from each state is awarded. It is related to their major. They would like to let the colleges know,( that they applied to RD), but they don’t know how to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with something like this?

My daughter sent an email to their admissions councilor. She explained the award and what she did to receive it.

Check the FAQs to see if there’s a way to update or let the counselor know. If there’s another way, they might tell you.

Many colleges will have a place on their portal where a student can provide an update and this is usually the preferred method. Have your student check the admissions portal of each of the schools they applied to. If there isn’t a place on the portal to provide the update then I would email their specific admissions officer. Or, if there isn’t an email contact for their specific admissions officer, then the 3rd choice would be to just email the update to the general admissions office email. Congrats to your student!
