Level 6 Grammar Question

Okay, not actually a level 6. In fact, according to college board it is a level 4 but might as well be a level 6.

Country-and-western musicians, (who) in the past were though (to lack) market consciousness, (are) now seen (as one of) the most commercially savvy performers in show business. (No Error)

Give up? Apparently its (as one of). Why?

“Country-and-western musicians…are now seen as one of the most commercially savvy performers.”

Since musicians is plural, “as one of” is incorrect.

To clarify, instead of “as one of”, it should be “as some of”.

That was so easy…

Musicians = plural
As one of = singular
