Liberal Arts/Career Combination in Harvard?

Hey guys,
I want to study Electrical Engineering as well as Economics during my undergraduate study.

Does Harvard have a

1] Liberal Arts/Career Combination program?

or a

2] Dual Degree program?

that enables me to study both my choices.

1) Doesn’t exist.

2) There is no Dual Degree Program. Harvard has something called a joint-concentration (sort of like a double major, but not quite), which means you only get one degree, but you can take courses in 2 major fields, with one being primary and one being the “allied” field. The catch is, you would have to write a senior thesis that combines BOTH fields in a coherent and integrated manner.

Unfortunately, the economics department decided that starting with the class of 2010, it would no longer allow joint concentrations, your proposed electrical engineering and economics combination would not be possible.

However, it maybe possible to do something like a AB in economics and take a substantial amount of electives in applied math and engineering. There might also be some sort of AB/AM offered through the engineering school/department. (I’m still not quite sure what its status is) But I’m speculating; you’ll have to look at the website and contact the people there.
