liberal arts school

i’m a senior right now and plan to go to a small liberal arts school–Lewis & Clark College as an undergrad.

is there a chance for me to be accepted to business schools like wharton and kellogg?

Lewis and Clark has a fantastic rep on the West coast, although I don’t know about the rest of the country. It doesn’t have a lot of name recognition among the general public, but grad school admissions officers are a different story.

I know someone who graduated 3 years ago from LC, went to Japan to teach English for 2 years and is now at University of Washington in the MBA program – not too shabby. I don’t have any idea how UW compares to wharton or kellogg, but it’s a great school.

Good luck!

Blah I am in the same position as you are, I am attending the University of Puget Sound, a very academic school by all means. I am transferring to either USC, Arizona State university, Santa Clara, or Willamette. Ultimately I want to get into a top MBA program. People tell me Willamette or USC will be the best options becuase they are both prestigous. I dont know what I will do. Im still waiting for USC, but I did get into Willamette

i was thinking of transferring too. perhaps to tufts… i don’t know. i’m still thinking.

congrats on willamette!

are you some kind of business major? you may want to also consider northeastern for an MBA because they have an excelletn job placement rate and of course co-op oppertunies abound. plus, at least one of their programs are designed specifically for those with liberal arts degrees and with no work experience…i know several people (current MBA students there) who have already been offered full time jobs for when they finish the program…just something to think about (and with big firms like Erns and Young and such…making pretty good starting pay)…

otherwise, if you want to get into a school like wharton and the like, make sure you get a few years of steady work experience and then apply. also try and do something interesting to set you apart or at least among the highest quality of applicants. good luck.

I am a full time intern at Intel Corporation. I hope that helps
