So at first I was thinking about applying to the liberal core program because i really liked what it had to offer, but my sister [who’s also in a similar type of program for medicine] said pre-set programs such as this more likely constrict participants to certain areas of studies without a main focus.
so, my question is, what’re the benefits of applying to the liberal core program? What’s the cost?

Questions which can be googl’d easily. Benefits of applying to LSP is that if you like having to take a required amount of classes (more than usual requirements of MAP) than this is for you. If you have no idea what you wanna do once you get into college, LSP is for you. LSP is the same. You pay the same fees for every class that everyone else takes. You don’t get a discount.

The main focus of LSP is for people like me (:P) to sort of ‘bolster’ our foundations. Some of us have what it takes but lack some type of quality and this foundation program helps us build our foundations properly.

Probably the only con is that, you focus on your major semi-late. You get to take your one elective a year or something but you really get into your major after two years. and those are two very long years with a lot of hard work and sleepless nights on things you might not like (LSP is mad humanities course based i think)

i am applying also.

The Liberal Studies Program is downright awful. It’s all pointless busywork, to be honest.
