White Supremacists are not “on the right” – they are off the charts. Any person or any group, fractional in size and despised by society, which is pro-hatred and pro-violence, is not on the spectrum. For example, I wouldn’t consider a nut who might want to assassinate President Bush to be a member of the left, either, or any number of evil loony tunes out there who might want Obama to win because they actually support him (in addition to wreaking havoc in the world).

The left is just as bad, if not worse. There is zero tolerance for difference of thought or opinion on the left. I was going to post about the fascist threats coming from the hard left to large donors on the right because it’s not possible for anyone to disagree with the left. It’s not for nothing that communists and nazis were/are lefties. I’ve rarely met a true lefty who viewed people as individuals, rather than members of groups to be put in their place.

Drosselmeier, I’ve always respected your posts and learned from them even when we disagreed but your post 80 went much too far. I’m sorry if your life has been such that you feel that way, but it just goes to show others that your experience is more limited than you realize.

I didn’t say they weren’t on the right. They are on the far, far right just like the whack-jobs on the left. I think you’ve gone off the deep end on this one. There is no difference between the crap these “racists” as you call them and the extremists from the left…except what they choose to hate about. I agree with Spidey. These people are so far gone they get their own little box.

We have our whackjobs on the right and there are whackjobs on the left. The question is which group is more likely to value individual human beings and believe in their fundamental competence. It’s clear to me that that would be conservatives. Which is why I hang on that side. I believe in the sacredness of every human life and in the competence of the vast majority of human beings to take care of themselves if left to do so. I couldn’t possibly care less what color a person’s skin is, but I very much do care that they are treated with dignity and not kept subservient and demeaned by people who use their misery as a power base.

No, not at all. Indeed you yourself claimed the “whackjob” was on the far right, not the left. In admitting this, you support my position. The whackjob on the right aims for a racial conflict. The locus of this desire is located almost one hundred percent on the right. Yes, the left has elements that are remarkably intolerant in many areas. But we are dealing here with racism. When it comes to racism, the most intolerant elements are “whackjobs” on the far right. And they are also in every American state, [with support from some of the highest right-wing political leaders in the land](<a href=“You are being redirected...”>You are being redirected...). Blacks don’t have to worry about left-wingers when it comes to race. The problem here is on the right.

Really, Drosselmeier, according to your line of thinking here, Bin Laden is on your side. Certainly Ayers, in his heyday. It sounds pretty ridiculous, doesn’t it.

I vehemently, adamantly disagree. It is not the right that has kept so much of the black community enslaved by welfare and under-educated for the last 40 years. That would be the left. It is the left that has made a mockery of the African American family and culture, not the right.

zoosermom–You “knew” me when–back when I used to fly into daily rages on CC. I hope all has been forgiven … and you can put away those sabres. :)

I honestly think the overwhelming majority of those on the right just wish the race thing would go away. We have better things to do than plot how we can keep the minorities down. You are starting to look like an *** on this one.

It is debatable that welfare policies have harmed blacks and that they have harmed blacks intentionally. One would be hard pressed to prove that those policies resulted of racism, especially when the policies affect and “benefit” whites even more than they do blacks. But it is not debatable that the Klan and other white supremacist groups have harmed blacks and that they aim to harm blacks intentionally, even to the point of plotting a violent race-war to destroy blacks in America. The latter harm and its intent is not in doubt. That it stems from racism is not up to debate. And it comes almost one hundred percent from the right.

With the exception of the whackjobs (who I repudiate), mostly we care about living our lives as we see fit and keeping as much of our money as possible. We want the same for everyone else, regardless of color.
