<p>What is the difference between the Liberal Studies Core Program and CAS for an English degree? I applied to CAS for an English/American Literature major. Is one program more prestigious than the other? I’m having trouble figuring out the difference between the two. thanks!</p>
<p>There is no difference in the degree you get, just in how you spend your first two years at NYU. LSP has a more rigid core curriculum that prevents a lot of exploration with different classes in your first two years. However, once you complete the two years of LSP, you are a regular CAS student and everything is the same. The only difference is that you have less opportunity to start taking classes in the English major in your first few years</p>
