Liberty University

I am planning on transferring to Liberty University from a community college, but I am worried about being rejected acceptance. The website says a 2.0 gpa is a requirement for transfer students, mine is 2.2. But, the required ACT score is 17 and I received a 24. What are the chances of me being accepted? I applied for Spring 2017.

Liberty likes to give people second chances. My GPA was below 1.5 from 23+ credits worth of F caused by family emergencies in 2004-2005.

My GPA is now up over 2.5 and rising; institutional GPA is 4.0 with two semesters on the dean’s list. Liberty won’t hold your hand though; it is far more difficult than any university I attended before. They will grill your research papers and expect cohesive critical analysis. You can’t write a fluff paper there and get an A. I especially recommend reading Kate Turabian’s guide cover to cover before you take THEO 201 & 202. Those two can be brutal classes.

Are you trying to go residential or online?

I am trying to go residential. I am currently taking summer classes at my community college and have been receiving all A’s. My GPA is as low as it is because I never put time or effort into my past work. Now I am giving it my all. I am hoping they accept me, I am just really nervous of finding a rejection letter in my mailbox.
