Hello Megan 702. The PSAT is trivial in importance compared to sat. I suggest you do a search here for PSAT to see that its mainly a warm up. You can find amazing information on many topics at college confidential. . Don’t try to be perfect. It is impossible and stressful.

Btw everybody bends the rules some times. You seem to have a good strong conscience.

So I failed the PSAT today. I did awful! I usually do soo well on practice tests but I didn’t finish the Reading sections(leaving like 4 blank) and I know already I got 5 wrong on the math!
No chance for NM at all.

What is wrong with me? Why did I get test anxiety and freak out? I usually only get 1-2 wrong in math on an official practice SAT!!! (but I haven’t taken one in a month because of marching band) The problem is—my Dad is going to kill me!!!
By the way I’m Asian but I’m not that smart. And my life is falling apart because my grades are awful. I have a C in AP Chemistry and I used to be a straight A student last year.

I also sorta cheated on the PSAT --I bubbled in 2 answers after time was called on a section…I feel so guilty. What can I do to repent? Will I get karma!? I’m freaking out right now because I’m signed up for the SAT on Dec.1 and I only have a month to prepare in the midst of school.
How do I pull myself together and ace the SAT in December?? I’m so depressed and feel so stupid right now! I’ve done around 10 practice tests this summer and extra separate sections already. What should I do to beat the Critical Reading time limits, the essay, and test anxiety? I feel hopeless but this is soo important to me. I’m not allowed to do ANY ECs if I do bad on this. And I really want to do well!

Also is the PSAT really that important? My dad says the PSAT is way more important than the SAT…and I really messed up big time today…

Are you being serious? I ask that sincerely. If you are, please don’t worry about this! The PSAT is only good for National Merit, $2500 scholarship, sometimes more at some universities, but the SAT is WAY more important. The colleges will never even see your PSAT score.

I would not take the December SAT unless you are completely prepared. You can always take it in January for your first time. You need to do the tests in the Bluebook. Use the first three TIMED. The last 7 can be used for practice. If you bought the book with the CD, that is another real, released test. Then you can also google old released tests and you will find at last another 3.

The more you practice, the more confident you will become.

Shut up. Seriously… You take things way too seriously, I’ll admit when I have a few minutes left over I go back to different sections & check my answers or whatever. But I usually only have like 2/3 minutes to do that… & I’m pretty sure you can still qualify for the scholarship missing 5 on each section.

I am being serious because my dad has been emphasizing the importance of this for a long time!!! Yah that’s the problem I can’t take it in January or March because I have band stuff those days (all state band auditions). I feel like the blue book is much easier than the PSAT because I do well on the blue book? Or I’m way more calm at home? I think I’m going to have someone time me instead of timing myself…
