<p>seriously though, all “That’s what she said” jokes aside, I feel so burnt out (its my third year). I’m not even trolling right now (though someone in this thread does have a long one… and that’s not you, batman). I have no motivation to go to research, class, study for class, etc… I just want to stay home and watch hulu and netflix.</p>
<p>Keep calm and carry on. </p>
<p>Quit the research if you can’t get the motivation to go and do something you enjoy. You gotta have something to remember after four years here. </p>
<p>I know everyone’s worried about their future and resume, but ****, sometimes it’s better to just live in the present.</p>

you don’t need a high paying job to do that. if that’s what you really want to do, then you don’t really need to wear yourself out so much in college.
there’s nothing wrong with being content with what you have and just living for yourself and what you like to do. just relax, imo.</p>

Whatever you’re feeling right now is ONLY temporary. You would eventually get bored with life if all you did was watch movies on neftlix or hulu. One summer I actually did that. All I did was play video games, watch movies on netflix and hangout when they free on weekends. By the end of summer, I was sick of the repetition and routine of what I had been doing. You just need to take a break, getaway or something. You could’ve done that this past weekend lol

<p>lol guys thanks for the motivational comments. Yeah I know its only a phase, though this phase keeps coming and going. I was hoping I’d get some comments commiserating with me, being like, “Yeah man, I get what you feel, I effin hate school too” but I guess the semester really hasn’t kicked off for the most of us. I’ll return a week before finals week ;)</p>

<p>@mariokart64, I guess I can’t compare myself being “burnt out” because this is only my 1st year (LOL, I suck) but I totally get what you mean. I feel like I don’t want to study or work or anything, but then I get really freaked out about my future (blah blah it’s too soon, yeah, I know xD). Then that forces me to hit the books really hard, then I get tired because my entire life consists of studying, etc. Crappy cycle…</p>
<p>So basically, one of these days I’m just gonna say, “f-ck it” and I’m gonna go hide in the miniforest to the north of campus, eat a crapload of squirrels, and not come out for an entire week or two</p>

<p>Let’s get one thing straight. You can quit and retire whenever you want. Life will always be unfair. Bill Gates told me that and I got used to it. I work a 50 hr week now and would trade anyone for a spot right now to go back to school. I don’t really care about the salary I make (>60k) but money don’t fall from the sky. Unless you can pull a Zuckerberg, Yang, Jobs, Brin, I suggest you slap yourself back to school.</p>
