Mom3 … DD skydived (dove?) on her summer trip home. DS was not 18 so didn’t get to go. When she comes home in Sept, she is taking him for his birthday present (now that he is 18). H challenged me so we are all going… of course it is tandem and it will not be LEARNING, it will be one jump but still…

I want to learn Italian. I was wondering whether to invest in something like Rosetta Stone, but I wasn’t sure if it would be worthwhile. I could take a class, but I actually like the idea of learning on my own, when my schedule permits.

I’m going to take a full-blown quilting class and learn the right way to do it!

I hear [immersion]( http://www.lifeinitaly.com/activities/italian-schools.asp) is the best way.

Ah, my dream!

Check with your local library and see if they have language learning software on-line (ours does).

If not…well I guess you’ll just have to take that trip.

I just sent that on to my sis. She made S1 a quilt for graduation last year. This would be especially appropriate for S2, who played a variation of the Mario Theme for his senior recital.

worknprogress2,S1 got the Rosetta Stone program to learn Spanish. He took Latin in h.s. He thought RS was very effective and easy to use.

Our “life is short” venture has been to take a leap of faith and build our retirement/dream home ( we are 48 and 51 so not ready for retirement yet) this year on a lot that we bought 10 years ago. We’ve been talking about it for 10 years and finally decided we were missing out of some of the best years of our life to be spent there by waffling and second guessing. We can only go for weekends/vacations at this point but love it and are so glad we did it.

emeraldkitty, I have a pile of t-shirts for S2…but I also do Judaic fabric art and would like to get some pointers on making my work more efficient!

Our dog is named Kira Nerise…you tell me if we’re Star Trek fans! :)
