life=over

i got an in school suspension my life is over

There’s more to life than high school. Ten years from now you’ll laugh at how upset you were over this matter.

It’s better than a sentencing for a felony, I guess.

Hopefully you’ll learn from this and try not to make those mistakes.

And, one in-school suspension is not equivalent to, life being over.

Nope, life is not over, though your social life may be suspended for a while.

But a few questions for you to ponder— please don’t feel that we need answers or details.

  • Were you wrong?
  • Did you make a poor decision?
  • Would you make the same decision again?
  • If you hadn’t been caught, would you still make the same decision again?
  • What are you going to learn from this?

OK, my suggestion: Use this as a defining moment in your teenage years. Take it as a warning that you’re on a path that isn’t the right one. Evaluate your friendships, your study habits, what you do with your spare time. Look ahead 10 years, and see where you want to be in your mid-to-late 20’s, and see whether or not this is that path that will get you there.

You may find that the friendships you’ve developed are preventing you from being the person you could be. OK, then start to wean yourself away from those friendships and find others. (An easy way to do this: find a part time job. You’ll have an easy excuse for not hanging out so much, and will find yourself with other kids who are working instead of getting into trouble.)

Hang in there. Write a letter of apology to whoever deserves it. No, not to lighten your sentence, but because it’s the right thing to do.

And know that the vast majority of kids who get into trouble are NOT “bad kids.” They’re normal kids who have made a bad choice. There’s a huge difference.

School isn’t going to change your life. How you take advantage of school is going to change your life…

If you feel that you did something morally wrong then I would reevaluate yourself.

lol happened to me before and i’m still alive and doing… okay i guess (somehow got a prom date  it was arranged though lol)

My son is in 9th grade and has had multiple in-school suspensions. Doesn’t matter.

Better than out-of-school suspension.

I’m not sure I agree that it “doesn’t matter.”

But it’s a long way from “yes, it DOES matter” to “life = over”
