Lightweight Crew Transfer

I’m a current Freshman at one of the top D3 schools in the nation and I’m interested in transferring to one of the CHYPS (Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford) for Lightweight Crew. Academically I am well-qualified:

First Semester GPA in College: 3.9/4.0
GPA in high school: 4.8/5.0 weighted
SAT: 2350
3 SAT II Subject Tests: Math 800, Chemistry 800, US History 770
Extracurricular activities in High School: 3 Varsity sports, Math and Writing Tutor, Student Service Board, Musical Instrument (10 years), Contributor to High School Newspaper

I began crew in September with no prior experience. After 10 weeks of training I pulled a 6:42 2k. I’m roughly 6’ and I weigh 163 pounds. I think I can drop my time to the mid 6:30s in the next few months.

I’m wondering if these top lightweight programs accept transfer students, and if so, are my qualifications in the ballpark of what these programs are looking for? I enjoy rowing at my school but I’m interested in a more competitive school and crew program.

Probably varies from school to school and year to year but your academics are in the ballpark. An erg score around 6:30 will pique more interest. Email the coaches and see what they say. Not Stanford, though, they don’t have L/W rowing.
