Likely letter means what percent chance of being accepted?

It seems to state so clearly an acceptance.

So does that mean if someone gets a likely letter…that they will for sure get in? 99% chance?

What will make them change their minds between now and then? They wouldn’t send you a likely letter and then think twice about you, would they?

Thanks in advance for answers.

I would put the percentage at high 90s.

They might change their decision if they receive alarmingly low mid-year report grades (fails or just straight Cs down the line) or find out about a disciplinary or criminal action against you. It has happened before but honestly, it’s just about the same conditions that would get an actual acceptance rescinded.

I remember reading that only like two people have been rejected after getting a likely letter. You have to really screw up to get rejected after a likely letter because I believe that Dartmouth only sends likelies to people that they really want.

oh thank God I was getting worried that any small thing might make me lose it. I’m not wearing uniform to school anymore, I’m just gonna wear dartmouth shirts haha

You CAN get your acceptance rescinded for disciplinary problems though :P

touche colbert

hahaha. Then indirectly, they would be rescinding your acceptance for wearing Dartmouth clothes… the irony.

100%… unless you commit a felony.

you’re in. congrats. start celebrating, and stop worrying.

Just don’t get any Ds this semester.

99.999999% chance, unless you become an ax muderer or drop down to a bunch of C’s.

or come to dimensions and do something to get your self thrown out.

what everyone above me said =)
