<p>For likely letters, if you submit your app early (like way before 1/1 deadline) does that mean you have a higher chance of getting a likely letter (if any) than if you submit it very late?</p>
<p>The vast majority of likely letters are given to recruited athletes, after extensive wooing by coaches in the summer and fall. </p>
<p>For the rare academic likelies, (given to a top handful of highly desired appplicants), the timing is not important but the world-class accomplishments are.</p>
<p>From my understanding to likely letters, Harvard would already be courting you. If you are wondering about the impact of your application date, then you probably are not one of the few students to whom Harvard will send a likely letter.</p>
<p>It is also my understanding that if you were on Harvards “radar” you would already know it. They are very forthcoming about highly desirable applicants.</p>
