Ling&CS vs. Ling w/ Specialization in Computing?

<p>I’m a 2nd year linguistics major and I want to explore computing/programming, but I’m not sure if I should switch to Ling&CS or just add in a specialization in computing.</p>

<p>Other than taking CS classes (for the Ling & CS major) vs. PIC classes (for Specialization in Computing), is there a huge difference between the two?</p>

<p>I don’t have any specific career goals, but I do want to incorporate language or translating in my job. I just thought that having knowledge would be useful for my future career, as some sort of a “safety net” since I know a lot of people want programmers.</p>
