Link Crew!

I heard about link-crew and I am trying to set it up in school!!
I think it can increase my chances at many of the colleges I will apply to.
I wanted to know If anyone is actually taking part in the link-crew? If yes, then what kind of information do we need to know and what should I do to set it up. the activities that should be done, the guidance and information of the whole process.
Please help

its a good idea but please dont do it just because you think it helps you get into a good college.

yae… i mean its for both! to help the freshmen at school and get a get repu with the teachers and also for the colleges!!
i mean I cant just ignore the college factor!!!
can anyone actually help me with this.
Anykind of help will be appreciated :)

welll i can tell you right now that it won’t help you get into college, but you probably won’t believe me so i wont. Just go talk to mujahid about it, she’ll probably be in favor of it, and you have your patron right there. Next, you have to get people excited. The prefect race is on, so i guess everyones going to be looking for a way to get in mujahids good books so you have that too. The problem is implementing this. At the start of the term prefects were given a list of ten new g’s they were in charge of (aka the adopt a new g program). The new g’s were too awkward to ask for help (and after a few days didnt need it at all), and the prefects were too burdened by other activities to give a damn.

woo… ur fromm kgs too??
shyt tyte… id never tout someone from kgs would be here???
well so u do think i should atleast try it out ryte??
btw r u done wid skooling or u still in school???

i’ll be done in a week. You’d be surprised how many grammarians are on college confidential (though i must admit this is one of my last posts). Ermm yeah try it out, spread the word that it makes peoples college apps look good and what not. But just try to remember yourself that it doesnt.

oo so ur in SY… so wot college did u get into… i mean which uni r u goin to?
btw… i think linkcrew will atleast make it look a bit better… cmon after its more like an EC… aur waisay bi… i got no ECs and my grades arent even the top notch sort… so atleast this will help a tiny bit :D

well i got into duke, dartmouth, williams, rice and chicago. Waitlisted by columbia and princeton ( i pulled myself off), and rejected by amherst, harvard and mit. you’re missing the point. It isnt the extracurricular itself that matters but what you gain from it, how it helps you grow as a person. The application only has space for like 4-5 activities, i honestly had to leave a couple (including prefecthood) which meant a lot to me. you dont need amazing grades or amazing test scores, but make sure your essays and recommendations are brilliant. Those count the most

DAMNN dood thts crazyy!!
congratulations boi!!
those are like my unis :stuck_out_tongue:
i mean atleast DUKE DARTOUTH AND WILLIAMS
so wot did ya get in your SATs and SAT II
im sorry to bother ya mayn…

it isnt a problem. Sats dont matter once you cross the 2250 line, and i honestly know quite a lot of people who got into brilliant places with a scores below that.I had a perfect score in SAT 1, and a 2370 in the sat 2. But i have to impress upon you that sat scores count for VERY little, unless youre applying to states schools (in which case, honestly, whats the point?). if you do have any questions ask away. I’d be more than glad to answer them.

woo mayn thts awesomee!!
but how can you say that SAT doesnt contribute =S?? and u mean the class marks do the thing for us??
err… my class average is veryy low =S
does the AS Level results matter at all???

not really. it only matters if you dont get 4 as which is surprisingly rare. At most colleges SAT scores are judged on a fifty point scheme. That means someone with a 750 each in maths verbal and writing will have exactly the same score as someone with 800s in all three. A levels get you college credit, which is cool since it means you have to take fewer classes in college. But for admissoin they count for very little. Again colleges dont want typical applicants. There were MANY people from our year who had 2250 + sats and straight A’s but were still rejected by most elite colleges. It ALL comes down to how much your application stands out, and the only way to make it stand out is through recommendations and essays.

i read your PM but couldnt reply mayn because your inbox is FULL!
three things:
1)How should I change my councillor?? I mean, she has been appointed to us… how could she possibly be changed :frowning:
2)I dont know the headmistress at all… And theres no way Im getting a black gown… cmon the year has ended already :frowning:
3)Im planning on getting recommendations from Sir Sajjad, Ghanchi and SM Hussain? Who is better and Who should I pick =S
btw. today was awessomee… the parodies and the skits and the kawalii… HILARIOUS!!! The entryy wass tyte!!!
but too bad… i ran and saved my ass from all the shavin cream =P

btw Can anyone actually help me with LINK CREW please

yesss!! 2007! its sad now thats its over, but oh well. well you’d be surprised the kind of people who ended up getting a black gown in our year.sm hussains a bad choice, he can’t write, though he certainly cares a lot about his students. I dont know enough about the other two to comment on them. If you want to get to know mujahid outside of bio, its pretty difficult. But if you do something which makes you stand out, she probably will take notice (though she’s heard of rice and chicago, but not duke and dartmouth, so how much she knows about colleges is debatable.
