I swear I saw a list showing the acceptance rates for engineering schools in the UC system. Now I can’t find the list. If you have it, can you please share it here? Thank you!
I have some admit rates for some UC engineering majors but not all since not all UC’s will post this information.
Any specific disciplines?
Mechanical, preferable. Thank you!
Here is the data I have for ME:
Campus | Mechanical Engineering |
---|---|
UC Berkeley | 4.9% 2024 |
UC Davis | Estimated <30% Selective Major |
UC Irvine | 12.5% |
UCLA | 4.2% |
UC Merced | 90% |
UC Riverside | 51.5% |
UC San Diego | Estimated <20% Capped Major |
UC Santa Barbara | Estimated <15% |
UC Santa Cruz | N/A |
This is interesting. From @Gumbymom previous post, UC Davis Aerospace Eng acceptance rate is “Estimated <40% Selective Major”, 10% over Mechanical Eng.
S24 will attend UCD as Areospace Eng in Fall. According to him, both Aerospace and Mechanical are in the same Engineering school in UCD. 50% of Aerospace Eng students graduate with Mechanical Eng as second major, because both majors share a lot of classes together, only 3 extra classes for Aero students for double majors.
I wonder is it a good strategy to apply UCD or other UCs as Aero Eng, instead of Mech Eng and then take Mech Eng as second major…am I missing something here?
