List of candidates for class 2010

MODADKC, i was going to say the same. I just got a scholastically qualified letter for the second time this past weekend. I am medically and physically qualified too but the letter did not mention anything about that. Has anyone gotten a triple qualified letter saying that they are scholastically, medically, and physically qualified that is not an LOA?

i would very much like to see the video you made. i went to session 3, but that whole week is kind of a blur. it would be cool to see some of the campus again. Have you gotten your LOA yet? My email is byers8484@msn.com thanks a lot

marmadillo–where in missouri do you live? i live just east of springfield. there’s three of us now, i guess. hopefully we all have separate reps. good luck to you and the person from KC.

If ANYONE out there is going to NAPS next year, please email me or leave a post on the NAPS thread.

Thanx,

Rosa

Aaron you probably realize that not many NAPS slots have been given out yet. This is kind of early for them. So I wouldn’t anticipate you would get a lot of email yet. They usually come out after the first of the year.

Sandiegodude: my son got the same letter yesterday even though he is triple qualified. He e-mailed his BGO to see if anything wierd was going on. He hasn’t received LOA either but promptly recieved all final paperwork for accepting his NROTC scholarship.

lizgirl06 - I’m from Columbia, and there are at least 3 guys from here in town that I’m competing against. I know there’s another girl from south of St. Louis who was at my NASS session, and there’s some girl on Xanga from KC who already got her appointment - lucky! :frowning: Yea, our rep has interviews this weekend, so my fingers are crossed! If I don’t get it, then it’ll be KC on Dec 3 for Talent’s interview…good luck to you!

marmadillo-i’m going to Columbia tonight for cheerleading state. did you go to MSA? (just a random question) My rep (skelton) hasn’t scheduled appts. yet, so i wonder if he’s going to. i go before Talents board (in Spfld) on December second. you may have already posted this, but did you get your loa yet?

Ha, yes I did go to MSA!!! How did you guess? I was in Leslie’s house. Bond hasn’t scheduled interviews yet either, so…hmm wonder when he’ll do that.
Yes, I have an LOA to both USNA and USMA - and now that my medical waivers have taken affect, they actually mean something! Just a nomination to go.
Good luck at cheerleading and nominations!

First of all I’m not like a lot of the people here because I haven’t wanted to go to the Naval Academy since I was like 5. I actually just found out it existed last year. But after learning more about it I am extremely excited. Actually, I’ve become obsessed with the Navy. Also, I have no family in the military and sadly no special “connections” that could help me. The only thing I have left to do is the interviews for the congressional nominations, I’ve submitted everything else, and I’m hoping for the best! I have extremely good grades in H.S. and I’m in the top 1% with a lot of E.C.s but I don’t know if that’s enough, especially since I didn’t go to the summer seminar or any other type of military thing and I only play 1 varsity sport.

You’ll be fine…top 1 percent is the equivalent of a valedictorian at most schools so that should help. Not everyone who goes to Nass gets accepted and vice versa. One varsity sport should be fine as well, as I had 2 and got the full amount of points for ec’s (Usma). Good luck.

I have an LOA and a nomination to USNA now! I need my waiver granted for USNA, though. USMA gave me an LOA and granted my waiver already. I have an interview with my Congressman soon. Oooohh…this is so exciting.

On a side note, I noticed that a lot of people do things (join clubs, play sports, etc.) all in order to get into some college after high school. In my case, I did what I liked/was interested in. I noticed that I have a lot more fun (and had an easier time) than most students (who go to meetings as an arduodus task) have.

Congrats dictatoranna!!!

I agree with the club things, go to have fun!

Hello,
I was wondering if your application has to be complete before they start sending you these qualification letters. Thanks.

Yep, including the DoDMERB. So much paperwork, so little feedback!;)

Well, not TOTALLY done. I got my academically qualified letter before I was medically qualified or had a nomination.

Several weeks later, I got an LOA that had boxes checked saying that I needed medical qualification and a congressional nomination before my LOA would take effect. Following THAT, I received a letter from the Supe. telling me that I am now medically qualified, and my status changed on the DoDMERB site. I haven’t gotten “official” (aka letter) notice from DoDMERB yet, though.

Hey, i just got an email from USNA saying that they’re changing the CIS password. FYI.

Rosa

You mean it isn’t beat army any more?

it never was beat army

it was blueandgold
