List of Colleges with Early Action, Early Decision, and Rolling Admissions

A few CCers have been asking for a thread with colleges with rolling admissions, early action, and early decision, so here it is  (Plus it always comes up, so hopefully this will be stickied and people won’t have to start posts anymore :P)

One thing to remember: these are 2007 statistics, so always make sure to check with the college before taking anything for granted. Also, I’m sure a few schools are missing, so always check back with the college - don’t trust me, trust them :)

Colleges with Early Action (nonbinding):

So far only Stanford and Yale provide Single Choice Early Action, I believe (meaning it’s nonbinding, but you can only apply to one school early - only Stanford or Yale, in other words).

I’m afraid I was unable to find a textual list of ED schools, however the following pdf provides a list of both ED and EA schools:

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing!!

Auburn labels theirs EA but really it’s rolling. They release decisions once a week and you do not pick if you want early or regular; it’s just based on when you apply.

I can tell you from experience that if you want an early decision, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, sent our son his acceptance letter one week after applying (app went in mid-October). For our daughter, both Oklahoma and Indiana made decisions within a month of applying.

Has Denison University posted any ED1 #'s? Or do they wait until after ED2 is totaled in? Just curious…

Thanks @tako great share

Thank you @tako for this list! good luck!

Unfortunately this is way too outdated to be useful in the fast changing world of college admissions.

I just wanted to add my own two cents - even though a lot of colleges are out there, do not just scan the list. Early decision is a very serious decision, and, though it does increase your odds, realize that choosing a college is like choosing a home AND a workplace for the next four to ten years. You do not want to make this decision lightly.
However, if you really are 100% sure, go for it!
