<p>The best assessments are probably the peer assessments done by specialized groups or organizations, e.g. accounting being rated by Public Accounting Report. This is why it is probably best to actually speak with the faculty of the various schools you are interested in and see what they think and then research any peer group or trade magazines, as opposed relying on profit-motive ratings generated by businesses that want to sell magazines as a primary goal.</p>
<p>I’d suggest researching your area and see what those in the profession and professors actually care about, then discuss it with them. In this way you minimize the hype and marketing and get much closer to the truth.</p>
