Literature too repetitive?

I was wondering whether the Lit test, given its similarity to the SAT I CR, was well-respected by adcoms at schools that require 2-3 sat IIs.

It’s not really that similar to CR. I would assume it’s respected.

Nah, it ain’t the same. But it’s hella easy. But yes, it is respected despite the fact that it doesn’t actually require any knowledge outside of the English language to take.

It depends on the students. Not easy for some students. If you did not do as well on SAT I CR and do not want to retake SAT I, then take SAT II Literature test. It’s one strategy to ease Adcom fears of your low reading score.

But since I did do well on the SAT I CR, would it better to take another subject test in place of Lit?

Most people who do well on sat ii lit do well on the sat cr… but obviously decide to take the lit sat ii anyway. It is not repetitive. Sat lit is much closer to AP English literature than to the SAT cr. Some will be able to ace the Sat CR but get below 700 on the lit, because it is quite a bit harder to study for unless you are by nature an enthusiastic reader (whereas you can score quite well on the sat CR without being too much of a reader).

No it’s not repetitive. Take the SAT subject test that gives you the highest score possible. This is why some students take SAT subject Math IIc eventhough they also have taken SAT I Math.

It is harder (by alot) than CR, and people who aren’t the strong type at English will have trouble. People who are strong at English will find it easy.

im also trying to decide whether i should take this…english is my second language and my advanced english class is a joke, but i got 730 in cr. is it that much harder ??

It’s in pretty archaic language, at least for some of the prompts. For SAT CR, the passages are fairly straightforward even though the questions are pretty hard. If English is your second language, any chance they offer a subject test in your first language? I know you probably considered that, and it might not look that difficult to colleges, but depending on your english proficiency, the Lit. test will be extremely difficult.
