Live Chrsitmas Tree Rental in or around NYC?

I am sure many of you have heard of this company: [url=http://www.livingchristmas.com/]Living Christmas Company/url. They basically rent out a live (not cut) Christmas tree in a pot for Christmas.

I would really like to rent a tree like that, but they are in CA, and I am in NYC. Does anyone know of any companies in NYC or the surrounding states that offer this service?

You should check any of the garden stores in the city to see if they carry pine trees in a pot. I don’t know that you will find a place to rent one there.

My D and her bf had a small tree last year (4-5 feet) that they bought from a place around the corner from D’s apartment and had to carry home, but it was a cut tree.

Used to pick up a Christmas tree every year in union square and haul it back on the subway to Brooklyn. Ahhhh, to be young again.

I will definitely check out those places. The reason I need to rent is because I love large trees. I usually have an 8-9 foot tree. This year has been very stressful, so I am actually scaling back a bit just for this year, but I still want around a 7 foot tree, so I am definitely not in the market to buy one that size permanently.

Those rental prices seem very high compared to the cost of a cut tree.

I saw this link on a friend’s Facebook page. Not rental, but you can buy a good-sized tree for around $100 with free shipping.

Rent a zip car (or Priceline a rental for $20/day), go 45 minutes north and support the many family tree farms in Dutchess Co. Or you can cut the travel by 2/3 and go to Stew Leonards in Yonkers. Thousands of beautiful trees supplied by family farms.

You could buy a tree in the northwest cheaper than those prices to rent.
Too bad ikea isnt renting in our area this year.
Id go to a tree farm, thats half the fun of getting a tree!
