Live Life

You make it sound like school is a terribly dull thing. Who says you can’t enjoy yourself at college and grad school (and for that matter, in high school)?

I’m living life right now, though it probably isn’t on par with the definition of ‘enjoying life’ here. It’s subjective to what you value as happiness and fun. No need to criticize others if they feel that being a workaholic is enjoyable to them. Many people thrive on the intensity of work to succeed, and even have fun at that!

It’s the good life…

It’s hard to balance living life and all of the college apps., testing, and AP class work.

Usually, I have to choose one or the other. I have to chose the latter when I have school.

I can focus on academics when I need to and relax the rest of the time. Yeah, sometimes I sacrifice one for the other but there’s always going to be a need to compromise.

I’d consider myself happy on the whole.

i was shocked when i read… ‘terribly dull thing’ … its not like i am living in a farm house with nothing to do is it?

When I’m dead I can have peace

Thats my philosophy =). Theres no point in life if one acts as a sloth and simply wastes it.

Some people on this forum are sad people…

I enjoy life, heres how it is: WORK HARD ON THE WEEKDAYS, party it up on the weekends, it’s that simple. Why work hard if you’ll never be rewarded for it?

Why not see work as a glory to itself?

Shouldn’t you work in a field you enjoy? Just a thought.

My parents are workaholics. It’s been 6 years since we took a family vacation, and the longest one has been 5 days over a long weekend. Now my dad works a full time job and owns a business, resulting in 14 hour workdays, and my mom also works a full time job. They wanted me to get a job when I got my driver’s license, so they got me one and now I work a part-time job in addition to all of the normal school stuff. For me, relaxing is being able to sit down, and having time to eat.

Please clarify what you mean by “live life.” What does that mean? Does it mean to go out and get smashed every weekend, go out all the time with your friends (I do neither), or just enjoy what you do every day? What does it mean to enjoy life?

Right now it seems like everyone is in the mid-year slump, so it’s completely understandable if all you have time for is school and work. Later in the year things will look up, especially when it starts to get warmer. Don’t sweat it too much. It’s life’s little moments that really make it worth it, so even if you don’t have time to set out on any great expeditions, make the most of the time you do have.

college apps have sucked the life out of me. i need to find it again.

playing some challenging video games did it for me
