Live webcam of an eagles nest, with sound

He’s a kid!! Expects mom and dad to feed him!! Send him off to college and learn to fend for himself!! ;)

Love the kid in the nest.
(my baby bird was more than normal adult size–well over 6 ft by the time he was 16-- before he could fend for himself.)

Did you throw a few fish at him too, mafool??

yes. Fish, ravioli, ice cream, nachos…whatever would fit into that gaping maw!

OMG, I just logged on to check on Phoenix and he has died! No one is sure what happened other than that he started having labored breathing a couple of hours ago. There was a rescue effort underway but he died before anyone could get to him. So very sad, this is just terrible.

How utterly sad. I didn’t post much, but I checked in every now and again.

OOHH… how awful!! I am trying to read the chat on the website-- but my computer is being uncooperative with the video-- . This is a sad day…

I just read the chat and it seems they will have a climber bring him down, probably tommorrow. Reading the posts from those who saw him dying brought tears to my eyes. The poor little guy didn’t have his parents there with him at the end.

I saw this last night, just before going to bed…I can’t believe it. So sad.

They made reference to the fish head experiment in their chat. I am curious as to what that was and if it had anything t do with his demise.

OMG I can’t believe this! Is that Phoenix in the nest now? Have his parents come back at all? I’m so glad school is out…I used to watch with my students…

There is a climber climbing the 120’ unstable tree to rescue the body for a necropsy. Very sad day.

I have been watching for the climber jym. Have they said how far up he is?

Theclimber is there1

Oh, that was horrible, it took all of 30 seconds and he was gone.

Yes. Sad. I kept losing the feed, especially to the chat discussion about it. Maybe that is a good thing…

Somebody posted a screen capture of the climber up at the nest, yet still while Phoenix was in the nest.

saw the “hotshot”. The Bird was BIG!!!

I can’t hear sound on my computer, but they are saying they can hear one of the parents trilling.

edit: Had you not seen it for awhile jym? Standing up he was getting close to the size of his parents. He had really big feet compared to his body size for quite awhile, it was very cute.

This is so sad… I was hoping to see him grow even bigger and fly away…

Had only checked in on him periodically in recent weeks, GA2012mom–
