<p>Not only hogging, but hogging with parental disinterest. And attacking as well, read: potentially fatal pecking. With only a few days apart the size difference can be that great. It is though nature views any younger chicks as backups. Harsh.</p>
<p>I believe I saw a small hole in the remaining egg, just like the hole from the current baby. From that I would assume this egg will hatch tonight making the babies just a day apart. Hopefully that will mean there will not be took much difference in size and the older guy will not be too greedy.</p>
<p>One of the parents brought in a clump of moss! Both mom and dad are busy upgrading the nest!</p>

<p>Parent is again feeding the chick. Unfortunately they have built a twig cover so that we can’t see the chick well, but it’s clear where the chick is from the movement.</p>

<p>So a bit ago it looked as though the egg had a hole and then a bit of a crack. Maybe … though as of now both baby and egg are tucked out of sight.</p>
<p>Nice little dinner going on now. I really do not see any holes/cracks in little brother’s/sister’s egg.</p>
