<p>hi. i start college in a few days. i am less than thrilled that i have to live at home my freshmen year but i simply cannot afford to live on campus. i worked throughout the summer just to pay for tuition. i probably wont work when school starts. but anyways, i am not too worried about living with my parents because they give me plenty of freedom and always have . but i am rather shy and am especially worried about making friends and i know that it is definitely harder for commuters. i will most likely live on campus sophomore year on but for this first year, what can i do to make lasting relationships. are there any people that commuted during college that have tips on how to make friends. any advice is greatly appreciated.

p.s. dont tell me just to live on campus this year. it is too late and i have no way to pay for it.</p>
