Living life to the fullest?

Are you guys living life to the fullest? I know I’m not, and I’m not exactly sure what is holding me back…

No, but I know what’s holding me back. High school.

Depends on how one defines the phrase-if by drinking myself to death, smoking a pound of Mary Jane, and getting laid twice a night (the traditional definition), then no.
But most of us will get our chance in college.

I’m curious: how exactly do you live life to the fullest?

I think living life to the fullest means taking meaningful risks.

That doesn’t mean getting drunk, etc. like kman described. It means stepping out there, trying new things, and doing your best even if it’s hard.

I’m not all the way there, but I try. One of the themes for my summer camp was “Fully Alive”. Following that camp, I went to a leadership seminar for three weeks and really became what I think embraces the phrase “Carpe Diem”. I want to live my life trying to recreate how I felt that summer… it’s tough, but incredibly worth it.

You can start by appreciating all that you have, and all that you don’t.

Yeah I really do feel up for some alcohol. It’s a shame that I have to stay dry on St. Patty’s day.

Nope. Fear of rejection.

According to my definition of living life to the fullest (which doesn’t involve drinking and getting laid): no.

damnit… must change!!!

I hear ya. Been going through the same thing for pretty much my whole life.

Sorry, I have only heard that phrase used to describe what I said above…obviously it has other uses.

to me, living life to the fullest means doing something meaningful with your life.

^ I strongly agree.

Meaningful? Like what?

getting into your top college, doing something valuable for the society, helping people out who are need…and many more…just drinkng and partying and smoking isnt always living life to the fullest

its funny cause in the yearbook, all the senior quotes that are like “live for today” and “live each day like its your last” are from people who are headed for community college… ahah suckers.

^^ or they just couldn’t think of anything better :D

BestMiler pretty much got it… although what “meaningful” is probably differs a bit from person to person. Helping people, doing something valuable for society, making a difference in the world. =] Now I sound cheesy. Getting into a top college isn’t really a huge priority for me, I’d be happy at the community college…

Well all my college interviewers have said that college was “the best four years” of their lives. I intend to make that a reality for me. Because frankly, all my best memories were those of doing stupid and reckless things. I don’t think I have any good memories of studying for the SATs or taking AP tests.
