FYI, haven’t noticed it mentioned - iHeart radio and Elton John are hosting a free concert on Fox tonight (6 pm PDT). Looks like an interesting lineup. https://news.iheart.com/featured/living-room-concert/
I saw an article about this earlier today. Sounds like it will be interesting. Mariah Carey in her home studio, but has to leave the door open to keep an eye on the kids. Backstreet Boys harmonizing from their separate homes.
My only issue is that they are soliciting funds when so many are or may soon be unemployed. I would rather see their pledges when they performed.
Backstreet boys was on. 9 year old me freaked out a bit.
I thought it was great. Yes they were soliciting funds but no one had to donate if they didn’t want to.
A bunch of musicians that I like are doing these. Given that these are folks, I’m cool with them asking for donations. To paraphrase one of them- in normal times, I’d go to a club for a show and drop $20 for cover and since I can’t do that I’m fine giving them the money to watch a set
It was enjoyable - I’d only vaguely known whom some of the performers were. Also it was interesting to see who had major recording setups in their homes, plus in the homes of their musicians. Pretty sure some of this was prerecorded because I don’t think it was still daytime out at the pool in Nashville.
