If you didn’t get an email I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It could mean something, but it also could mean nothing. There’s really no way to know until decisions are released. I also got an email, but I’m pretty sure I’m on their mailing list. So maybe the people who are getting emails are also on the mailing list.
It turns out I got the email, it was just in my junk mail. I don’t think LMU is a reach for me, but you never know with college admissions these days…
My daughter has been receiving emails with professors’ and students’ advice for future lions since before she applied so they may be just marketing emails, although the Academic Excellence one was worded differently.
I never signed up for an email list and did not receive any emails except the last two. The lack of an email should not worry anyone just the presence of one in my case seemed to have some connection.
LMU is a hard reach for my D and she gets all the emails. I wish they meant something, but I don’t think they do.

I want to add that my position in this entire process is interesting. I applied to 2 instate schools and 14 out of state and my GPA demonstrates an immense growth trend. I am a strong test taker and heavily involved with community service and extracurriculars. LMU was classified as a “target” school for me but truly I have no idea. While I hope these emails are a positive sign who really knows? If I get into LMU I am hoping I get the Jesuit High School award so it becomes more likely for me to attend. I still think Friday will be the day at this point. At the end of the day I am praying these emails are specific notes about admission.
I debated about responding about the emails. In the end, I decided to because (1) I don’t want people to base their hope on bad information and (2) knowing future LMU prospects will read this chain next/future years and get hope based on bad info. My D has been on LMU’s mailing list since February and every email from them profiling people have ended with “advice for future lions.” Obviously, she hadn’t applied at that time. This will be an exciting week for many, the anxiety will soon end! Best of luck!
Does anyone else’s portal have a “verify address” section but no way to verify it? My daughter’s portal has this section listed first and the address is correct, I’m just wondering if she should be reaching out to admissions.
@Calinext my D’s portal (and other portals) have that. Didn’t think anything of it.
@Calinext My portal has that too. I would leave it as is.
I think the “verify address” section is there just to make sure you have provided LMU with your correct and most current address. If you need to edit, there is a link to edit the address underneath where your address is listed. Otherwise, leave it.
Does anyone know historically a time decisions will be posted in portal? I know it is probable that they come out by the 13th but what about the time of day?

Good luck to everyone! For those accepted ED, was anything sent via regular mail in addition to the acceptance on the portal? Was an email sent as well? Did the acceptances include any info about merit aid? Wishing everyone good news this week!!!
@Calinext my D received an email saying there had been an update to her file directing her to the portal. After a few clicks, she got to her acceptance. She was accepted on 11/26 and we haven’t received anything in the mail. The acceptance didn’t include anything about merit aid. In reading online, ED students find out mid December (so hopefully this week). I don’t remember what it said for EA but it’s on LMU’s webpage in the financial aid page. Once accepted, they get access to another portal, believe it’s called Prowl, where financial aid info gets posted. The email my D got said that she will periodically get emails directing her to that portal when there is new information for her posted. Hope that helps! Good luck!
Good morning all, so I spoke to the LMU transfer counselor about 3 weeks ago and told me that EA decisions will go out towards the end of December - January. But seriously hoping before xmas. Good luck everyone!
@Nervmom They said that last year and decisions were released mid December.
