@RidleyBCHS my daughter just got that too, looks like around the same time as you, I didn’t think it meant anything - in fact it sounded to me like they didn’t even realize she was an applicant, like it was just a solicitation to apply.
My daughter got that email too. Would be great if decisions are next week!
@CAtransplant typically, I would agree. However, usually those types of emails say “apply now” or along the lines of it. The non specific wording is similar to what happened to me for other schools before I was alerted of my admission. Hopefully this means good news for your daughter but then again your reasoning also resonates with myself. We won’t know until we really know obviously but I have high confidence in this application so ideally that’s a preliminary sign and encouragement to enroll in the future without the specific wording.
@RidleyBCHS my daughter was admitted ED and got that same email tonight. She was also receiving those emails leading up to finding out which made her even more anxious to hear, so I definitely get it! Best of luck to you!
Son received the same email. Good luck everyone!
OP, my D is a junior there. Here’s what I think the best parts are: Great size, allows relationships and mentoring with professors, professors tend to be very passionate about their work, beautiful campus, Jesuit “whole person” philosophy. Worst? IDK…my D is very happy there. I’m pretty sure it’s not a party school although there are parties to be found, but I don’t think it’s the typical big school/big sports/big party atmosphere. No residential Greek which is a plus or a minus dpending on the person. Housing post-freshman year was difficult due to construction, which will help the problem in the future but hurt the current students.
My D isn’t super into outdoors but I know there is a surf club, and I think there is an outdoor camp first year experience that happens one of the first weekends of the school year that is highly recommended.
Good luck to all and congrats those who are accepted! We love LMU.
Did anyone else receive another email today from LMU about advice for future lions? Anxiously awaiting decisions from early action!
Yes, my daughter received that email too!
My son got an email on 12/05 with contents about “Academic Excellence”, on 12/06 with contents about “Hearts and Minds”. He also applied EA. I hope this is a good sign…
When is the expected date that EA will be released? Will decisions come out in the portal first or by mail?
Fingers crossed!
@8461student They should be on the portal first but the date is by December 20th. As I have stated I am pretty sure it will be before. Probably next Friday the 13th.
The hearts and mind email is the first email specifically using the wording “future lions”. At the very least that should be an immediate sign of acceptance. It is possible they send these to everyone but why would they?
To me, it does not make sense why they would send an email about your future at LMU if you did not have a future. This then should these emails are leading to an acceptance, I hope. Has anyone not received the emails?
@8461student I agree. Even the ED students are getting these.
I don’t think my daughter got the hearts and minds. When did it go out? What does it look like? Now I am worried.
Oops never mind she did get it.
I didn’t get an email. Yikes!
@afeldman4 Do not take that as a bad sign. It could be in junk mail or just got blocked by your email server. It happens. I am sure it all work out anyways. Is LMU a reach school for you?
I didn’t get an email today either.
