@sourc888 He visited Syracuse, Emerson, and Ithaca, but will have to make a trip to LA this month to visit Pepperdine and hopefully LMU if he is lucky enough to get in! Right now LMU is his first choice but a long shot and he hasn’t been on campus yet. Syracuse, Emerson and Ithaca are all great, but very different in location and feel. Emerson right downtown Boston (without a traditional campus, but Boston Common is like the quad) which is such an awesome city for college students, Ithaca is beautiful with the lake and waterfalls but much more isolated, and Syracuse is a big school with lots of sports and LOTS of school spirit. My son has always dreamed of going to LA for college, so he is a bit biased toward those schools, but he is thrilled to have gotten into the Park school at Ithaca and if he doesn’t get into LMU or off the Emerson waitlist he might have a tough choice between Ithaca and Pepperdine. My understanding is the film school is better at Ithaca, but the location of Pepperdine (near LA) might be better for internships, etc. Also, he got in to Pepp for Spring 2019 which might have its challenges. and although i’ve never visited lmu while classes have been in session, i’ve always gotten the suburban, relaxed feel there. best of luck to you as well

My sister graduated from LMU a year ago and now making $100,000/yr at her first job! I know we all think so much about big name schools but LMU really is a great school.

I just took the L and got fully denied from my top choice LMU. I had a 3.9 from an elite high school and I had 1440 on my SAT. I was a 4 year varsity athlete and captain and had a lot of impressive extra-curriculars in and out of school. Pretty pissed and kind’ve confused how I didn’t get in. Just wanted to update my status, good luck to the rest of u!

@forrealthowhy they probably saw you as overqualified and that you just applied there as a backup (someone with those stats is easily competitive for UCLA, USC, etc
