Hi i’m super confused because on my lmu portal it says I have two applications one for undergrad and one for a non-degree program. anyone having the same issue??

My son got his rejection late last night. Film production – stats SAT 1430, GPA 3.6, weighted GPA 4.6 and midterm report the best of his entire life – straight A’s and mostly high A’s. Not much volunteer hours but other unusual extra curricular activities. Not Catholic though I thought Jesuit schools did not care too much about that…indicated in essay that LMU was top choice. Down to UT Austin (RTF - in state) and DePaul (Film/TV - with full tuition scholarship). Also rejected at Chapman but he would have preferred the ones he has to that anyway so no harm no foul.
@forrealthowhy I’m so sorry to hear that. I really think EA candidates have a better chance of getting in. It was so worth applying early last year for my D. It’s a pretty small school and for that reason I’m sure they have to deny many very qualified applicants. If it makes you feel any better the food sucks LOL.
Do we think they will release decisions today? D is a Film Production applicant.

@indiaa No actually. My son was deferred in December so it still has the link to that status update there. I’m assuming there will be a link to a new status update once we get a final decision. I tried to take a screenshot and post it but you cannot on here.
@reservationsfor3 I hope they will. It’s been two Fridays with virtually nothing…it’s about time they release some decisions.
We got ours last night. And if it is a rejection you will see ``… do not meet our standards for acceptance’’’. Pretty cold and heartless imho – Chapman rejection was much nicer.
@ozzocker Chapman was decent, I agree. My son’s feeling is if they don’t want him why should he want them. It’s a good attitude. But yeah bummer that LMU was so blunt. We have high hopes but a realistic viewpoint here. We shall see what happens. I tweeted at LMU admissions. If they answer me I’ll let you all know what they say so those waiting might know something new.
If my S is rejected after all this waiting and all the emails from the Admissions office, I think I will be more disappointed than he will be. Even the UC’s have already made their decisions.

How do I access the application portal and make an account?
@iceberg2464 right after you applied you should have received an email with instructions on how to set up your Applicant Status Page. The email subject line is “we have received your application”. Inside is a link and a PIN. It went to the email address you used when you applied…so check back. I would imagine you need that email to set it up.

@collegestas Political Science but now she’s an IT consultant, doesn’t really match up haha. But that goes to show that it doesn’t truly matter the major it’s what you do with your learning
i think more decisions will come out today based off of last year but idk anymore
