waitlisted for film production.

Waitlisted, and honestly a little bummed about it (looks like practically everyone so far in this wave was waitlisted too). Might be Pepperdine for my decision. Anyone know if it is possible to check how high on the waitlist you are?

Looks like its waitlist day. My D got waitlist for Film Production. She’s quite happy!

I’ve haven’t heard back yet, yikes…

@misstrendy My son, who has virtually same stats as yours, was waitlisted as well

waitlisted. does anyone know what the likelihood of getting in is, and when we will know if we got in?

yes if anyone knows the stats for waitlist kids post about it because i’ve been looking for some stats everyone, and also if anyone knows about what time we hear back about waitlist can you let us know as well

Hey there, just wanted to post for all the film applicants who were waitlisted…My S and I were at LMU last week for campus and film school tours. During the admissions’ presentation, the presenter covered stats for each school, and explained that not only was this a record year for number of applications, but that the Film school stats for acceptance hover between 10-15%, WAY below LMU’s general acceptance rate of 50%). This sounds like one of the most competitive years…so definitely hang in there! I know a lot of kids are still waiting for other school decisions (my S is waiting to hear from USC before making his final decision – and same with that school – record number of applicants, which means their acceptance rate overall has dropped to 13% to try to keep a class size of 3300), and once those decisions come through, a lot of spots will open. Waitlist should start opening May 1. Sending good thoughts out for all of you!

I was waitlisted as well last night… 3.4 gpa UW

Thank you @njsmommy very helpful info. We’re disappointed for sure. His essay for LMU was by far the best one he wrote, but when you reach for the stars you miss a few. Good luck to everyone who is still awaiting a decision.

@boys2mama hang in there. Our guys will find their rightful place. I’m sure of it.

same with my D…waitlisted from Film Production. I was surprised TBH.

Waitlisted for Film Production. I was accepted into UCSB, UCSD, and SDSU, but rejected from UCLA, CSULB, USC, Occidental. Still waiting on a few more schools such as CSUN. I’ve heard CSUN has a good film program, while UCSD has a Visual Arts - Media program, and UCSB just has film studies. I know that UCSB is an hour and a half or more from LA and UCSD is over two hours I think. Should I take my chances with the waitlist or go to CSUN, UCSD, or UCSB? I’m trying to get into the film industry as soon as possible.

@iceberg2464 you have to put down a deposit on another school anyways so just put down a deposit on one of your acceptances then wait for them to announce the waitlist then you can always switch

Does anyone know what the Nexus program is? My son was accepted with the requirement that he be in this program. I am open to this program, but it seems odd to me given that his academic stats seem to be to be at least, if not above, average for LMU. 1310 SAT and 3.93 weighted GPA, 3.63 unweighted. 4’s on a couple AP tests. Anyway, before I call admissions to learn more, what can anyone here tell me?

@iceberg2464 Couple days ago, D got CSUN Housing email so she checked portal and her acceptance to Pre Film was posted! She never got an email that admission decision was updated. Another school leaked? You should check your portal.

Please let me know if you receive any information about Nexus.

I was accepted through the nexus program. 3.4 gpa 1360 sat.

@plsacceptme23 The whole thing seems weird. Just seems really odd to send the “you may not be able to handle it” message to students who are clearly capable.

What is the Nexus program exactly?
