loans for law school

can a student apply and get a loan for law school on their own without parents? What type of loans are out there for them and most importantly, will they qualify?

Yes. A grad student is eligible to borrow 20.5k a year in stafford loans (8.5k subsidized, 12k unsubsidized). In addition, the student can borrow in a Gradplus loan up to the cost of attendance (determined by the school) minus any other financial assistance you will receive.
