Local Admissions Transfer GPA

I am interested to know what the average transfer GPA is for local Orange County residents for Computer Science majors are. I have been changing my mind during my first year in community college, and have decided that I would switch from Finance to Computer Science.

When I transfer, I will have a Transfer Associates degree from a community college system. My GPA isn’t the best, but it is above a 2.5 GPA.

I have heard it’s harder to get in Csuf than in the past where having a 3.0 or better is ideal for local, however that doesn’t mean you won’t get in. See if you can get academic renewal for some bad grades or take a d or f over if needed. You will likely get into Dominguez hills still though and could transfer to another CSu after a term there probably. You are in a major that is challenging so again that gpa might be fine. Look up the computer science major advisement counselor at Csuf and set up an appointment or also talk to your transfer center at your cc. If worst case you have to spend a term at a CSU that isn’t your top choice don’t let it discourage you, it’s common.

@BackNSchool83, the problem is though that I have not gotten any grades lower than a C. I still have one more year to bring up my GPA to a 3.0 before I transfer, but I’m not sure really if that’s enough. If I have an AS-T, AND I fill out the IGETC form, AND the transfer agreement courses, do you think that I would be fine for transfer if I have my GPA?

hmm… not sure exactly but I think it would help to go through pass CSUF Acceptance Threads. If I were you I would keep my GPA at a 3.3 and up
