Local boy makes good

Dickensian tale–from (benign) child labor to Yale.

Incidentally, the Independent, published by a Yale alum, is a good online source of local news.

Thanks for sharing this truly inspirational story.

Wen is such a HUMBLE/NICE kid! I was not surprised when I heard that he had been accepted to Yale back in the spring. At orientation last year(fall 2011), I asked where he was applying. He smiled shyly, almost painfully and said “I’m not too sure.” My response to him was, “Yale and Harvard would be fools not to accept you! I hope they are on your radar.” He tucked his orientation packet under his arm and walked into the schools auditorium, looked back with a nod/smile of acknowledgement and winked at me. This young man exudes humility and grace! We are so proud of him!

They also do a nice weekly report on ALL of the restaurants that have failed health inspections. I am so sad to say that a few were on my list!
