Lofts

I have an incoming freshman. Do most freshman use these?

I did. It came with the room because I was in a triple. It definitely saved up some room for me and my roommates, My desk and dresser were underneath. There are only 2 negatives that I can think of. 1. It was very squeaky and made a lot of noise even if I was just moving a little. 2. My leg has slipped a couple of times trying to get on or off. (unlike the bunk beds, it has a metal ladder instead of a wooden one)

I used one as a sophomore in a triple. No problems with squeaking or noise, but like ConcreteRose I slipped a couple times and cut my leg on it once.

Most freshmen don’t use one; most are in a double with both beds on the floor. I’ve known people in doubles to loft their beds just to get more room, but lofting is required for one of the beds in triples (the other two beds are bunked).

Thank you Maryland Terp for the quick response and info…appreciate it.
