LONDON (Reuters) - A home-made bomb exploded on a packed rush-hour commuter train in London injuring 22 people on Friday, police said, in what was being treated as the fifth terrorism attack in Britain this year.
Passengers on board a train heading into the capital fled as fire engulfed a carriage at Parsons Green underground station in West London after the explosion at 8.20 a.m. (0720 GMT)…
I couldn’t sleep this morning, so was reading on my phone when I saw about the explosion, just about an hour after it happened. As my daughter and my husband live in London, and do use the Distract line (just not that section) for work, I immediately emailed my daughter to make sure they were ok. As she works out in the morning, going to different locations, I had no idea where she might be!
My daughter was actually at a doctor’s appointment and did not even know what I was talking about when she saw the email. Both are fine, and I am relieved. My mother waited to call me when she was sure I was awake to check on them also.
Glad they are okay @snowball. These situations are so scary.
I must admit, I was a bit on edge until I heard from my daughter. Even though I didn’t think either one of them would have been on that tube, it was still nice to hear back from her. I would have texted her instead of emailing, but then she would think something bad happened at home since it was the middle of the night here!
Of course, once she replied, we continued to email back and forth for a bit
