London Olympics 2012 - SPOILER ALERT

USA - Russia men volley ball match is getting more exciting now.

OMG!!! Bronze for the US Women’s epee team. YES!!! Whoo-hoo! This was NOT supposed to happen! Won in sudden death overtime!

Seems to me the technology is enabling him to do something that everybody else can do, namely run around the track.

Did anyone watch the Senegal-Mexico soccer match? I could not believe the Senegal player didn’t get a red card after kicking a Mexican player in the face:

[Senegal Defender Lands Flying Kick To Face Of Mexican Player - Soccer Video | NBC Olympics](http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/soccer/senegal-defender-lands-flying-kick-to-face-of-mexican-player.html)

Men’s 1500 freestyle. Boy oh boy, just watching this race tired me out. Drama at the beginning when Sun Yang started early but was not disqualified. He took the gold with a world record. Canada’s Ryan Cochrane took silver and Tunisia’s Oussama Mellouli, the bronze.

Phelps and USA for the win!!! Didn’t expect to tear up but I did.

As I normally do at 2pm my time, I tuned into the international Spanish channel for their 9pm news. They interrupted to show Phelps in the water and the rest of the race. WOW!!!

So Phelps ends his career (or so he says) with 18 Olympic golds, twice as many as anyone else in history. Simply phenomenal.

Galen Rupp if the US just won a Silver in the 10K on the track … the first US medal in the 10K since 1964! … following his training partner Mo Farah of Great Britain who won GB’s first ever gold at the 10K (that one is surprising to me). Wow!

Mens’ 10K was awesome!!

Loved seeing Mo Farah embrace his daughter, so touching! Also to see the training partners embrace after going 1 - 2 on such a long race. What a dream!

Shelly-Anne Fraser-Price successfully defends her title in the women’s 100m. Jeter gets the silver. Nearly the entire field in under 11 seconds - incredible race!

Big day for British track and field: 3 gold medals.

Woohoo for Rupp and Farah, the Oregonian and the adopted Oregonian!!

I saw Pistorius run in the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene this spring. Neat to watch-- but he was far far behind all other runners in his race. For now, I don’t think an amputee with blades will be at the level of other runners.

WOW. Shocked the Mexican player wasn’t seriously injured.

GBR-Korea soccer: great game. Korea won 5-4 in penalty shoot out. The Korean substitute goal keeper save one ball. This really disappointed the Brit fan making a lot of noise in a full stadium.

Couldn’t be bigger. Their best every Olympic day I think. 6 golds in total. I think some of the BBC commentators may have coronarys. Heptathlete Jessica Ennis has been the face of 2012 for years and was under unimaginable pressure. They sold out a athletics stadium in her home town just to watch her on a big screen.

Also Andy Murray is in both the singles and mixed doubles finals tomorrow, so a fabulous weekend for GBR will continue.

Went to Wimbledon today to watch mixed doubles with Murray, Serena give Sharapova a beat down, Bryan brothers win, and Serena and Venus in doubles!

Pistorius should not be banned from the Olympics. He seemed to be having a difficult time with his “footwork” yet managed to stay in his lane. The Olympics Committee has had years to determine what advantage he has, if any, but has yet to come up with anything. It is amazing that he played rugby, tennis, and one or two other sports too. I’d rather watch him or a barefoot runner any day.

I enjoyed watching some of the team jumping equestrian event this morning. Absolutely beautiful horses. There is a young girl from the U.S. who is the youngest to ever compete in this event in the Olympics. She just turned 18 last month. The course was interesting, made up of several replicas of iconic London landmarks.

The women’s marathon was fun to watch, too. Being able to see so much of that beautiful city. The young woman from Ethiopia who won set an Olympic record. To see her cross the finish line, then grab her country’s flag and run up and down the mall with such joy, after running such a distance!, was pretty amazing.

How did I miss the women’s marathon??? Were you watching this on a live streaming option, alwaysamom? Please tell me that NBC plans to show it later today.
