London Peeps

Hey, London and vicinity residents. My H and I are planning to move to the UK for the 3rd time - this time to central London. We have lived in Cambridge for graduate school and Croydon (briefly) while I was working in a training programme in the 90’s. This time, H will be working in Soho (between Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Rd tube stops). I need recommendations on areas to live. Here’s our preferences: short commute (less than 20 minutes), walking distance to Piccadilly, Central or Northern line, 2 bedroom flat around 2,000gbp/month, close to shops because we won’t have a car. Oh and we don’t have kids at home so don’t really care about schools.

Any suggestions?

Well, I don’t know about prices, but definitely look at North and Northwest London - Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Finchley, Barnet etc. All are on the Piccadilly or Northern lines, and all are centered around little residential villages full of shops and restaurants.

I’ve lived in one of these areas all my life and I absolutely love it.
