I was wondering, see for the common application form for transfer student there’s a part that says describe one of your activities ( cc or experience bla bla bla… ) in 150 words or less.

But I decided to write a 500 word essay, which is a very meaningful essay to me.

Do you think its acceptable ? Will it seriously jeopardize my chances ?

People have submitted entire extra essays in the past and gotten into schools. I don’t think it will jeopardize your chances, but you should be sure that the essay is truly meaningful and well-written, or it will probably just aggravate the adcoms instead of impressing them.

The only problem you may run into is that it will not fit in the space on the Common App and you’ll have to try and fit it in the “extra comments” section - probably.

LIke brand says, make SURE it is not just your opinion that the full 500 word essay is meaningful. Have someone else read it to see if it holds their attention, is well-written, is not wordy…

I volunteer ;). YOu can PM it to me if you like.
