Hi,
I know this is a super-long-shot. However, I’ve got so much amazingly helpful info on CC that I thought I’d give it a try.

Friends of ours are trying to sell their (food) franchise (in a bit of a bind). They are using a commercial real estate agent but the fees are exhorbitant & I don’t know how effective she’ll be.

Thought there must be some forums on the web where people informally exchanged info about selling franchises. I looked & couldn’t find anything that wasn’t fee-based.

If anyone has any info on this, I’d appreciate.

Some companies will help their franchisees sell their business. Have your friends contacted the Mother Ship and asked about possibilities? Can they contact another franchisee in the area to see if they might be interested in another location?

Usually food franchises from large successful ventures are fairly easy to sell to other nbearby owners, if your friends are in a location like that. They could even get a bidding war going.

They’ve listed the franchise on the home company’s website. But, somehow are not hopeful of making much money from the sale.

I just know there are so many communities/forums/etc. on the web that figured there must be some place they could publicize/chat with others about it.
