I live in Texas…decided JUST NOW that I want to apply out of state…but, I’ve missed most of the good colleges, all of the Ivy league regular deadlines. I’m top 2% of class, 4.0… I’m planning on doing liberal arts/poli sci major. anyone know of good schools with regular deadlines in mid january or later?

Not sure about the deadlines, but here are some very good LACs for political science: Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Occidental, Grinnell, Carleton, Macalester, Kenyon, Dickinson, Colgate, Bowdoin, Bates, Amherst, Swarthmore, Haverford, Davidson, Franklin & Marshall. . .

Georgetown is the best for poli sci, as I know it. Either that or also UChicago is good too.

UChicago’s deadline is Jan 1, but Georgetown is Jan 10. Not too late. Good luck!

Many of the colleges reidm listed use the common app. You can go there to see which ones along with their deadlines.

I believe: Occidental, i think is due on the 10th; Amherst is due dec 31; Kenyon is free online. All this is from memory, but you can easily find them on the college websites or college search engines.

Some other suggestions: Hendrix (Arkansas), Willamette (Oregon), Whitman (Washington), Rhodes (TN).

I would add Denison and College of Wooster, two very good LACs in Ohio, to the list.

Dartmouth is Jan 1, you still have time! If you call and tell them you just realized how badly you want to apply there, they might let your recs come in late. Its also common app.

Look into Bowdoin and Tufts.

Might try Holy Cross -great LAC with good school spirit,1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross apps are due Jan15th. Long list of distinguished alumni and HC recruits actively in Texas.
