<p>ledzep-- haven’t most threads been done 3000 times already? what is a good school for me? what is the best school for x? and someone will say ranking for undergrad departments is pretty meaningless-- if it is a good school, it is good all around.</p>

<p>For serious, with your GPA, you might want to look at Syracuse.</p>

<p>I suggest several schools that are good for that:
Northeast:

  • American University (Match)
  • GWU (Reach but very realistic with strong SAT)
  • Boston College (Reach)
  • Boston University (Match)</p>

<p>Southeast:

  • Tulane (Match: their standards are nto as high because they are slowly trying to attract students back to NOLA and they cant keep the same bar as they had before)
  • University of Miami (reach but a very realistic reach if ur SATs are strong)
  • Georgia Tech (Reach but very realistic option with strong SATs)
  • University of South Carolina: Match/Safety
  • UGA: match</p>

<p>MidWest:

  • Indiana: Safety
  • Michigan State: safety
  • Purdue: safety
  • Ohio State: match/safety</p>

<p>SouthWest:

  • Texas A&M: match
  • UT Austin: reach (if ur in state its a possibility otherwise its gonna be tough)
  • Arizona: safety
  • Arizona State: safety</p>

<p>West:

  • USC: reach but with a strong SAt its a possibility.
  • UCSB: not sure how good their program in Int studies is but to get in u have a shot.
  • Washington State: safety
  • Portland: match/safety
  • Washington: Match/reach</p>

<p>^ ^ ^ Most people know this list is terribly erroneous. We should stop posting it on CC. Many of those schools don’t even have IS/IR departments at the undergraduate (or graduate, too!) level!</p>

<p>That doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Columbia, for instance, has great success placing kids in internships at the UN because of their location. It’s all about resources.</p>

<p>It was a pretty comprehensive study. All rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, however. In addition, it’s really not even necessary to have an international affairs degree to work in the field…</p>
